Self-Healing: Three Cases of Dementia and Their Management

With the aging of society, more and more people are suffering from dementia, yet the medical field is helpless against it. Over time, families often have no choice but to let it be, leaving the patients to become like walking corpses—truly a pitiful sight. On the other hand, due to the misleading medical narrative that "this condition is irreversible," few people believe us when we say that dementia, like any other illness, can be managed and improved. In light of this, today we are sharing a few more case studies—
Li Family’s Secret Method for Managing Difficult Pain: To express my gratitude for Teacher Zeng’s great compassion, I would like to share a case of an 83-year-old dementia patient who recovered 80% of his memory within ten days; he was able to recognize people after the very first day of treatment. Method: First, gently massage the large tendon behind the mastoid process (the bone behind the ear) for about five minutes. Perform gua sha on both sides of the big toes and the toe tips, and apply point pressure to the toe pads. Perform gua sha on both sides of the little toes. Apply point pressure, from light to firm, to the midpoint of the line connecting the two ankle bones on the sole of the foot. Do this for both feet, spending about five minutes on each point. Note: After a few days, you can quickly pass over points that are no longer painful, while focusing more time and pressure on the painful ones. In particular, the spot on the sole of the foot is very painful each time; you can start with light gua sha before applying point pressure. After ten days of treatment, he has basically recovered. The key is to stay calm and patient while performing the treatment. The elderly gentleman had a very foul odor in his home, but I persisted until I finished the treatment. You must have a compassionate heart.
Peace is a Blessing: My mother is a thrombosis patient. Massaging her by hand every day is really tiring, so a massage stick works very well. Clearing her meridians every day is amazing; her constipation has improved a lot, and now she has a bowel movement every day. Also, her tailbone used to hurt from lying down all the time, but now it doesn't hurt anymore. She is much more energetic than before. She started showing signs of dementia before the New Year and couldn't recognize people, but after more than a month of massage therapy, she recognizes people again.: I used to think that dementia was only caused by severe cerebral vascular blockage, but clearing the meridians is incredibly effective for treating dementia. Many thanks to the teachers and members of this group.
appleshin: My relative has developed symptoms of dementia and refuses to go to the hospital for an examination; she had insufficient blood supply to the brain when she was younger. I am currently using the acupoint combinations from Teacher Zeng’s official account to treat her. The thick callus on the inside of her big toe is slowly softening, though there is still a hard lump. Her memory and sleep improved significantly in November, but since late December, her memory has fluctuated, and her sleep has been inconsistent, though there is overall improvement. Is there anything else I can do? I feel uncertain.
Chai Xiaoyun - Zhejiang宁 @appleshin Try head gua sha, ear rubbing, abdominal massage, foot soaking, spinal pinching, and Chinese herbal medicine. Is her bowel movement regular? Constipation can also cause these symptoms.
It is not surprising that there are fluctuations. Since it is effective, just keep at it. Of course, you can also look for the root cause as suggested by our friend Chai Xiaoyun and improve your methods.
So, what are the basic methods for managing dementia? Teacher Xuan Bin says—
The large tendon below the mastoid process, the painful points on both sides of the little toes, the painful points on the big toes, and the heels. If an elderly person goes out and cannot find their way home, pressing the painful points on both sides of the little toes will help them regain clarity quickly.1. The large tendon below the mastoid process
There are two methods: First, press the starting point of the large tendon below the mastoid process.
Second, pinch and rub along the large tendon below the mastoid process from top to bottom.
2. Painful points on both sides of the little toes3. Painful points on the big toes
4. The heels(Tapping or flowerpot moxibustion)
Supplement:Teacher Xuan Bin says that Guanyuan point regulates the heart and brain. You can also do moreGuanyuan Qi-Cultivation Technique. For moxibustion, you can use a three-hole moxibustion box placed vertically to treat the navel and Guanyuan point. You can also addPatting Baihui point2,500 times each session, or perform head gua sha—scrape the entire head, focusing on painful areas, for at least 20 minutes each time.
Additionally, it is best to treat dementia as soon as you notice that the elderly person's memory is not as good as it used to be, so as to avoid them becoming completely confused and uncooperative later on.
