Erjian point has traditionally been a commonly used point for eye diseases and migraines. According to the practical experience of Zhou Meisheng, Erjian point can be applied to various systems and diseases throughout the body, usually using wheat-grain moxibustion, rapid point moxibustion, or bloodletting.
Listed below are its effects, categorized by speed and magnitude:
1. For sprains and contusions throughout the body, it is especially effective for sprains, contusions, and hematomas of the lower limbs, far surpassing other methods;
2. For various suppurative and non-suppurative inflammations, it is not limited to acute conjunctivitis; for tonsillitis, parotitis, various abscesses, and cellulitis, its effect is no less than—and often exceeds—that of various antibiotics;
3. Digestive tract diseases such as gastritis, enteritis, bacillary dysentery, stomach pain, intestinal colic, hepatitis, and liver area pain are all included;
4. For cardiovascular diseases, such as arrhythmia, acute heart failure, as well as hypertension and hypertensive headaches, it acts faster than drugs like Suxiao Jiuxin Wan;
5. For respiratory system diseases such as common cold-induced cough, acute bronchitis, and tracheitis; it can also serve as an auxiliary treatment for lobar pneumonia;
6. For urogenital system diseases, such as renal colic, urethritis, and orchitis, the effects are all excellent;
7. Its role in preventing and controlling infection for post-surgical pain cannot be ignored;
8. For joint and musculoskeletal system diseases, it is also effective in acute cases;
9. It is not effective for chronic cases.
There are other undiscovered special functions that await practical observation.
A verse says: Left and right Erjian, can dispel a hundred diseases of the body.
Pricking to bleed or direct moxibustion can be effective for a hundred diseases of the body,with the right Erjian point being a must-take.。
I have used Erjian bloodletting to treat insomnia, fever, eye pain, red eyes, sore throat, and facial acne with excellent results.

Wuci: At noon, a family member had swelling and pain on the upper front part of the right earat the scalp area,not sure if it was inside or in the skin/muscle layer. I pinched the Waijiaogan point, performed bloodletting at Erjian, used a probe to scrape and press the Fengxi point and Shenmen point, and stroked from the outside of the lower leg to the instep and the second and third toes. Why prick three points? Teacher Li says this makes it easier to squeeze out blood, just like a teapot lid needs a hole to let water pour out easily.
